Baby Massage & Yoga

CatMassage1_edited.jpg

When my daughter was born, I stumbled across a local baby massage and yoga group. We were hooked after the first session. As with many Mums and Dads, I cherished this early and very special period in my daughter’s life and finding such a beautiful way to bond and support her development was something I was truly grateful for. My mission then become centred around paying this forward and providing the same experience to other parents and babies.

I have joined forces with Rubba-Bubba with Rhi to share the baby massage and yoga love with other parents in West Wales. Our baby-led classes guide parents through easy-to-follow baby massage and yoga strokes and stretches. The sessions are run on a weekly basis to allow parents plenty of time to practice the massage and stretches at their own pace. Each class ends with a hot cuppa and a friendly chat - because we know parenting is better when shared!

What do you do in your classes?
I will guide you through the easy-to-follow baby massage strokes, concentrating on a different body part each week. The sessions are run on a weekly basis to allow you plenty of time to practice the massage strokes in the privacy of your own home if you like. Don’t worry if your baby needs changing or feeding, the class is baby-led and their needs always come first. We massage a different body part each week and recap from the week before in case you can’t make it. Each week we massage for around 20-30 minutes then have tea, refreshments and a natter. After 6 weeks you will be able to do a full body massage on your baby and reap the benefits that follow.

Baby yoga is not “yoga” in the traditional sense. Baby yoga enhances a playful interaction and communication between parent and baby with stretching, parent-guided movements, holds and relaxation in a safe and structured way in a class or as a one to one.

Babies practice yoga postures naturally as part of their development, however my baby yoga classes combine a gentle and structured approach to yoga with age-appropriate movements, holds and stretches that help parents and babies bond, promotes a physical, mental and emotional development and well being.

This is not a parent and baby yoga but there are some gentle ‘mama moves’ and Mama and me mindfulness in each baby yoga session.
